Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia is a kind of cancer of the bone marrow and blood that begins from our white blood cells, also known as lymphocytes that are contained in our bone marrow. This variant of cancer has been studied to be the most common type of leukemia that affects adults; it happens when our bone marrow starts manufacturing too many lymphocytes. It can be a chronic condition that lasts lifelong or several years and is characterized by symptoms like swollen lymph nodes, easy bruising, or extreme fatigue.

In the initial stages, treatment might not be necessary but later on, the patient might be prescribed targeted therapy or chemotherapy. This ailment progresses very gradually affecting older adults – in very rare and aggressive forms of this disease, doctors might advise stem cell transplant.
