So What Really Happened That Drove Her Towards Fitness?

Monica’s journey to weight loss started in 2019. She was extremely uncomfortable in her skin and weighed the most then. She was feeling tired often and that was when she decided to work on herself. The home-organization influencer started making changes and marched towards having a better lifestyle.

She believed in the power of setting goals, and set herself a 6-week, 90 days, 6 months, and the “end of the year” goals. Having a big goal can only be achieved efficiently if we start taking measurable and time-bound actions. That to Monica was a game-changer in her weight loss journey.

She was determined to lose her weight and make better choices in her lifestyle. She was measuring her weight at regular intervals. If the scale wasn’t moving lower, she was reflecting on what really went wrong and how she could correct that.

Here is a blog written by her about her personal weight loss journey. She often reminds people to be intentional.

What Was Monica Mangin Weight Loss Diet Like?

The first step that Monica took was to change her diet. She started to be mindful about what she was actually eating. She said goodbye to sweets, sugars, and processed food and made a better choice. She replaced all of that with wholesome and healthier alternatives like fresh fruits and vegetables.

She also tracked her daily intake of calories and was cautious that she was burning more calories than what she was actually taking. Being physically active and working out was mandatory for Monica. She always stressed the benefits of incorporating exercise into the weight loss routine.

Here is her favorite dessert that she loved during her journey to weight loss.

Quick Chocolate Oatmeal

  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1 small banana (broken up into small chunks)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 2 Tbsp Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 15-20 drops of Liquid Stevia
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup of Light Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk or Light Vanilla Soy Milk
  • Dash of salt
  • 2 Tbsp. fat-free cool whip (optional)

Spray a small saucepan with cooking spray. Combine all of the ingredients together in a small saucepan. Stir everything together until thoroughly mixed. Turn the heat to high and continue stirring oatmeal until the oatmeal starts to bubble slightly and thicken. After the oatmeal starts to slowly boil, turn the heat off and continue stirring for another minute or so to finish heating all the way through. Pour into a bowl and enjoy! For an extra treat, add some fat-free cool whip on top!

*You can also add a Tbsp of Peanut Butter to the above recipe for a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup bowl of oatmeal! My husband’s favorite!
