On 31 July 2023, Heidi wrote a long post on Instagram sharing everything related to the loss of her mother.
“This has broken me and changed me. But I am my mother’s daughter, and I will come back stronger” as she wrote about the gruesome act on her Instagram. “I know you’ve had questions, and there is something I’ve been wanting to tell you, but up until now, couldn’t,” she said. “I have been carrying this painful secret: My mother’s death was not natural, nor peaceful. My mother was murdered, violently, in the place she should have felt safest — her own home in Windham, Vermont.” She added.
The incident has broken the news reporter as she is still in disbelief about the untimely death of her mother. With a heavy heart, she continued “Claudia Voight was stolen from this world. She was stolen from her family, from her children, and from my precious daughters who now ask me almost every day, ‘Why did Grandma go to Heaven?’”
She also thanked the Police Department, NBC Connecticut staff, and everyone else who stood by the family in such difficult times.
The Culprit was a Tenant
The culprit who committed such a gruesome act was a tenant who stopped paying rent. Shown Conlon, a 44-year-old man who was the prime suspect and wanted for the past few weeks was finally taken under custody by the US Marshals Service in conjunction with the Rhode Island State Police and the Groton Police Department.
